Accessibility in Travel

Michael Silvey has worked in the corporate travel space for over 20 years.  Currently, working for AmexGBT, Michael provides Consulting services for technology, innovation, strategy and service delivery.  Prior to joining AmexGBT, he was a VP for a large TMC consulting firm, focused on TMC bids, card, expense, technology, sustainability and DE&I initiatives. Growing up, Michael learned American Sign Language and became immersed in the Deaf community.  Through his experience he went on to study Linguistics and Political Science, earning his BA from TWU.  After graduation, Michael worked for the University of Texas Systems, Texas Commission for the Blind and Texas Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing as an ADA Compliance Officer, advocating for persons with disabilities throughout the State of Texas while providing American Sign Language Interpreting Services to those who are Hard of Hearing, Deaf, Deaf + Blind. Michael continues to hold his national license for interpreting and transliteration from the national Registry of Interpreters (RID) and continues to work on behalf of those who are differently abled.
