John Mathieson

Vice-President, Equity Partner and Senior Trainer of Dale Carnegie

Join us as we start fresh in 2023 with an inspiring workshop on Goal Setting led by John Mathieson Vice-President, Equity Partner, and Senior Trainer of

Dale Carnegie. This is not another typical goal setting workshop. It was developed with a specific focus on a proactive approach to “achieving” set goals that are congruent with our inner motivations/aspirations and to “create” the results we want in both our personal and professional lives.

John earned a golf scholarship to Southern Methodist University. John graduated in 4 years with his degree in Business Administration. John also completed his Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from Villanova University in October 2010.

John was the golf professional with the Harvey Penick Golf Academy in Austin, TX, where he taught more than 15,000 golfers. With extensive use of video analysis and feedback John was able to get a person out of their comfort zone and make a physical change.  His understanding of how to get to the root cause of a problem combined with his ability to build trust and communicate effectively enabled him to help people make significant improvements and accomplish their goals.  This desire to see people grow and change is his ongoing motivation.

His professional presentation skills and his passion to help people improve their performance led John to a career with Dale Carnegie.  Over the past 15 years John has delivered leadership and presentations training to thousands of people and currently is a senior leader in driving results in Houston, Texas.

John’s past participants include employees from Huntsman, Hess, LyondellBasell, Celanese, Dell, General Motors, Pulte Homes, AIG, New Process Steel, The University of Houston, and hundreds more. 

Less than 3% of the over 1,000 global Dale Carnegie Trainers are certified to deliver all 5 of our Core Dale Carnegie programs.  John is proud to be one of the select members of this group. 

John is married to Annette, a medical professional at Memorial Hermann Hospital System.  They live in Houston with their two Cockapoo dogs, Coco and Baily.
